I am a PhD Student at the Department of Material Science and Technology. The topic of my project is "Etching Response of Aluminium Alloys". Main parameters which I focus on are the influence of alloy- and etching bath -composition on etching results. Especially the alloying element zinc is of great interest. Additionally the influence of ageing conditions on the etching result will be characterized. Main investigation methods are Auger-spectroscopy, Electron BackScatter Diffraction, TEM with Energy Dispersive x-ray Spectroscopy and White Light Interferometry.
